Such an interesting article about evangelicals fighting over endorsing Santorum or Gingrich. Seems like a no-brainer to me. As repulsive and offensive as I find Santorum's positions on various issues, at least he's consistent, is perfectly aligned with the far religious right, and appears to have some level of integrity -- which character trait completely eludes Gingrich.
ReplyDeleteAhab, just a comment on the Newt post. (I tried to load it 6 times but I won't complete and I can't even get to a comment box!). Newt must be understood as a man who thinks that he is vastly smarter than everyone else, so in his mind everything is manipulation, and no doubt he sips his scotch late at night and he and helmet head get off on how "he put one over on them all." He is utterly about Newt. Sorry about the site problems. I have some awful ones on about 3 blogger sites. Must be something in the side bars that screws me up on dial up. lol
ReplyDeleteAn unbelievable array if craziness as usual, Ahab! I think the dog bed analogy in the last story takes the cake.
ReplyDeleteCognitive Dissenter -- I find it baffling too. You'd think Santorum would be the natural choice, but Gingrich has no doubt made allies among evangelical power brokers.
ReplyDeleteSherry -- Uh oh. I'm sorry about the problems you had with the Newt post. If you'd like, I Can send the text to you via e-mail. Let me know. Anyway, I think your assessment of Gingrich is spot-on.
