  1. Does Kate Kelly call a press conference every time she does something? Because it sure seems like it.

Only a few months ago she claimed to believe in the fundamental tenets of Mormonism and was simply asking her patriarchal leaders to ask God for guidance on female ordination. She claimed she would accept whatever answer "God" gave her male leaders. Yet now it seems she's embracing everything that goes against those beliefs she claimed to embrace only a short time ago. And she does it all so publicly. Is she genuine or just a publicity whore?

Sorry for my cynicism, but I know several individuals who have created lucrative niches for themselves by calling attention to themselves while appearing rebellious and edgy. And like them, Kate Kelly strikes me as someone who is more interested in seeing her name in the news and perhaps positioning herself to negotiate a book deal than someone who is authentic and wants to do something good just because it's the right thing to do.

    1. Agi Tater -- I don't know very much about Kate Kelly, except that she had advocated for the ordination of women in the LDS church. I take it she's a divisive figure among Mormons and ex-Mormons?

    1. Jono -- Right-wing Catholics do seem ill at ease with their Pontiff. I'm disappointed that Pope Francis' enlightened attitudes toward the environment have drawn so much fire from the right.
