Well, that Gallup Poll finding about UT is no surprise to me. The last time I attended a Mormon ward in UT about a year ago (visiting with relatives) the chapel and it's extension was so packed the bishop had to ask everyone to move to the center of the pews so that people could sit down. Any given Sunday in the Mormon heavy sections of UT you can see hoards of people walking to church. There's one practically on every corner. And everyone is dressed the same. The men in white dress shirts, the women in the same modest church dresses. Pretty chilling--like a Twilight Zone episode.
ReplyDeleteDonna -- Well, conformity seems to be a virtue among the Mormons. Do they attend because they get something from the service, because of peer pressure, or some other reason?
