  2. John Freshwater is yet another case of where someone is attempting to escape the consequences of their actions by claiming religious discrimination.

    Among many other things -- including violations of the laws -- he intentionally burnt crosses on the arm of a minor in his care. But that's alright, you see, because he's being persecuted for being a Christian. Right.

    Paul -- People need to realize that religious beliefs are not license for bad behavior, be it homophobia, stonewalling other's reproductive health care, or burning crossses into kids.

    The problem is when such behavior is "justified" by their beliefs, they don't see it as bad behavior. They see it as righteous. And that persecution complex only fuels their religious fervor.
