  1. When I read the sort of items listed in this post, I sometimes think I've gone through some sort of wormhole and entered the fictional world of Margaret Atwood's Handmaid's Tale. We really are Two Americas.

    1. One wishes it were a fictional world or some alternate parallel version of America, but in fact, they walk among us (shudder).

    2. Shaw -- Absolutely. The Religious Right sees the world through a completely different lens, and their values are disturbing. For someone outside of that subculture, it's shocking.

  2. This "religious freedom" bs has gotten way out of hand. Maybe someone can convince them to "go be with their lord" or something.

    1. Jono -- It's definitely getting out of hand. Religious freedom was never in jeopardy, but the way right-wingers talk, you'd think America was feeding its Christians to the lions. Still, these bills were never about religious freedom -- they were always about the right to discriminate on quasi-religious grounds.
