  1. I was reading recently that the official RRRW talking points are to call birth control "abortion" or "abortifacients" to push the meme that birth control is abortion. It's working. I see in LTTEs and comments on blogs/news articles that people are pushing that notion. Some of them seem to actually believe it, whereas others may just be promoting it for political purposes. Then Rep. Tim Murphy says that instead of scientific facts, we should defer to people's "religious belief" that birth control is an abortifacient. This is like 1984 meets The Handmaid's Tale.

    Buffy -- It's appalling how contraception is being demonized and lied about with such ferocity by the Religious Right. Many don't even bother to do any research about the contraceptives they're blasting (i.e., Plan B). They really expect women to go quietly back into the Dark Ages.
